B.E.S.T. Groups for Kids Who Have Experienced Sexual Abuse
BEST groups are for children ages 5-18 who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual assault.
These groups utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based treatment model with an 80% efficacy rate. This means that 80% of children who participate in TF-CBT show a complete or significant reduction in negative behavioral health symptoms. Creative therapies also will be utilized during each session.
BEST groups are divided by age, and older age groups also are divided by gender.
Sessions are 12 consecutive weeks, and each weekly group is 1 hour. Parental involvement is encouraged in weeks 1, 6, and 12.
Group sessions run 3 times a year: September, January, and March. Groups are held after school hours. The cost is $30 per week.
Children must be registered for group 2 weeks prior to the group's start date. To register, please send an email of interest to email@example.com, or call 513-268-5828.
CCP uses multiple evidenced-based treatment modalities to treat children who have experienced adverse events. These modalities include, but are not limited to, TF-CBT, CFTSI, EMDR, and play therapy techniques. Therapists at CCP have received intensive training in these treatment modalities.
